Funny story about this painting. When I first started painting in Acrylics, I did a very abstract city cats painting. I had it in a few exhibitions, but there were no takers. Later on a good friend who loves my art, saw it and asked if it was a work in progress, and this then gave me the notion it needed more work. So I worked on it and ended up with this new painting, which was obviously much richer and more interesting, because I had learned so much since the first version. It went in the gallery, and sold shortly after.

German born, but Canadian by nationality, Karin Zeller has been a resident of Melbourne, Australia since 1993. She is self taught artist, but has attended many courses , workshops and classes over the years. Starting out in 1990, creating custom pencil portraits, she honed her skills in realistic portraiture. However, Karin always had a love of colour, and became interested in watercolour. Not long after, and still a relative beginner, she was asked to teach a beginners watercolour class with the local Art Society, where she was a member.
