About Karin Zeller

Karin Zeller German born, but Canadian by nationality, Karin Zeller has been a resident of Melbourne, Australia since 1993. She is self taught artist, but has attended many courses , workshops and classes over the years. Starting out in 1990, creating custom pencil portraits, she honed her skills in realistic portraiture. However, Karin always had a love of colour, and became interested in watercolour. Not long after, and still a relative beginner, she was asked to teach a beginners watercolour class with the local Art Society, where she was a member. This was the beginning for her teaching art classes and workshops. Karin attended a weekly life drawing and painting classes for many years. She has dabbled in all mediums, but prefers watercolour and acrylics. She learned about quality materials from art magazines, and art books. Inspiration was everywhere. Karin had always preferred the art of Picasso and and Paul Klee, and was drawn to abstract art and surrealism and symbolism, although she has an appreciation of all styles and mediums. Over the years, colourful cat and fish paintings have become her favourite subjects, but her love of learning and experimenting sees her exploring a variety of subjects and styles. Karin was represented by the Clayfire Gallery in Daylesford, Australia, where her colourful Paintings of Abstract cats and Fish were quickly snapped up by collectors, but now prefers to sell her original work closer to home, and online through Bluethumb. https://bluethumb.com.au/karin-zeller Karins colourful abstract art can be found everywhere, but her proudest moment was to have her her Tiger Abstract painting on a Czech fighter jet, which won 2nd prize at NATO Tiger Meet 2013, in Norway. I think it was from that time, that her career as an artist really took off.
