This painting was created after a collector asked me if I would be willing to create a painting just for her, in a specific size. As we began to communicate, the painting became more specific. She wanted 4 cats, one tabby , one tuxedo, one white with spots and one long hair black cat. I actually painted a different one alside this one. She chose the other one, but this one found a buyer very quickly.
German born, but Canadian by nationality, Karin Zeller has been a resident of Melbourne, Australia since 1993. She is self taught artist, but has attended many courses , workshops and classes over the years. Starting out in 1990, creating custom pencil portraits, she honed her skills in realistic portraiture. However, Karin always had a love of colour, and became interested in watercolour. Not long after, and still a relative beginner, she was asked to teach a beginners watercolour class with the local Art Society, where she was a member.
