This painting was created by intuition. I enjoy painting fish as a way to relax and just have fun. I listen to music and let my imagination run free. Paints were applied with brushes, fingers and random marks and textures are created. Often as I work inspiration takes over while I'm just playing and experimenting with various techniques. At some stage, when I am happy with the painting, I stop. This sometimes takes many layers of paints, and many weeks. There can be days, sometimes weeks or months when a painting sits idle, while I work on other paintings. It's all part of my creative journey. This painting has been sold.

German born, but Canadian by nationality, Karin Zeller has been a resident of Melbourne, Australia since 1993. She is self taught artist, but has attended many courses , workshops and classes over the years. Starting out in 1990, creating custom pencil portraits, she honed her skills in realistic portraiture. However, Karin always had a love of colour, and became interested in watercolour. Not long after, and still a relative beginner, she was asked to teach a beginners watercolour class with the local Art Society, where she was a member.
